2024 AHC: WV’s Premier Professional Retreat
We invite you to join the 2024 Almost Heaven Classic in the New River Gorge National Park, offering a unique opportunity for your board of directors, department leaders, or executive suite to connect and collaborate.
At Mountaineer Media, our podcast interviews with hundreds of industry leaders reveal a common thread in team building and management: the importance of cultivating deep, meaningful relationships with colleagues.
These sort of “professional retreats” take individuals out of their regular work environment, allowing them to interact in new ways. This can break down barriers and foster a sense of unity. A study by the Harvard Business Review found that when team members feel comfortable and relaxed with each other, collaboration and creativity flourish.
The unique part about the Almost Heaven Classic is that while your team can host independent team meetings to focus on company-specific opportunities, it also brings together hundreds of passionate Mountaineers from various industries. This cross-pollination of ideas and perspectives can be extremely valuable, as suggested by research from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
We encourage AHC attendees to book an adventure with our venue hosts, Adventure on the Gorge. Consider the TreeTops Zipline Canopy Tour, a 10-zip line course that winds through an ancient hemlock grove and over Mill Creek, offering insights into the local flora during an unforgettable journey.
For the thrill-seekers, the Bridge Walk on the New River Gorge Bridge offers a breathtaking bird’s eye view from a catwalk beneath the bridge, 876 feet above the New River, all while learning about the bridge's history.
At the 2023 Almost Heaven Classic in Canaan Valley, we were joined by Brad D. Smith, President of Marshall and former CEO of Intuit, as a panelist. While his spouse, Alys, enjoyed the golf tournament, Brad engaged in workshops with groups like Vantage Ventures in a setting that naturally inspires creativity and engagement.
