Building Bridges and Fostering Growth: Advantage Valley Backs the AHC

We are very pleased to share that Advantage Valley is the official Friday, June 9th Food Sponsor of the Almost Heaven Classic. Because of their generous support, the West Virginians in attendance will enjoy a bite to eat during the networking session and live panel discussion at the Canaan Valley Resort. And don’t worry WV pepperoni rolls are on the menu!

Advantage Valley is a non-profit economic development organization that focuses on promoting economic growth and opportunity in the Charleston-Huntington Metro area in West Virginia.

They collaborate with various stakeholders, including the State of West Virginia, local governments, county economic development authorities, sector and business leaders, chambers of commerce, academic and training institutions, and nonprofit partners. Advantage Valley operates in nine counties: Boone, Cabell, Clay, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam, and Wayne.

The organization's mission is to foster economic opportunity for all residents in the region by increasing investments, leveraging resources, and building collaboration among community stakeholders.

They adopt a unified regional approach to economic development and have three primary focus areas:

Increase Business Attraction Efforts: Advantage Valley aims to attract new businesses to the region. By showcasing the favorable business climate, they encourage investment and highlight the region's potential.

Retain and Grow Existing Businesses: The organization is dedicated to supporting and expanding existing businesses within the region. They provide resources, assistance, and guidance to help businesses thrive and contribute to the local economy.

Increase Rate of Business Startups (FASTER WV Program): Advantage Valley operates the FASTER WV program, which stands for "Fostering Advantages for Startups & Entrepreneurial Resurgence in West Virginia." This entrepreneurship program is designed to assist individuals in starting and scaling small businesses. It offers one-on-one business coaching, basic business classes, technical assistance, access to capital, and support with writing business plans and financial projections. FASTER WV operates in ten counties within Advantage Valley's jurisdiction.

Additionally, Advantage Valley publishes the Advantage Valley Regional Magazine, which serves as a platform to promote the region's livability, business climate, attractions, and amenities. The magazine aims to encourage investment, talent recruitment, and relocation to the Charleston-Huntington Metro area.

Advantage Valley’s leadership team will be in attendance at the Almost Heaven Classic so if you have questions, ideas or business development proposals, you’ll be able to speak with them directly. As of May 23rd, we still have about 25 tickets remaining! Secure your spot here: Registration
