Hike #15: Overlook Trail (Beech Fork State Park)

Hike #15 took me back to my local stomping grounds at Beech Fork State Park, where I was able to get a couple of miles in on a Saturday morning. The park is small but attracts people from all over for it’s camping facilities and lake recreation options!

Beech Fork State Park has a really nice trail network, but this trail in particular is one that I frequently turn to when I’m running short on time but still want to feel removed and get some fresh air.

This area was ravaged by storms this spring/summer, and at the time of my hike, there was still quite a bit of trail obstruction. However, you can tell that trail maintenance/restoration is still in progress and a lot of work has been done to clear debris and/or create new paths.

When you’re done on the trail, you can check out Beech Fork Lake! Bring your kayak and go for a paddle or have a picnic by the water.
