ChatGPT answers…“What do people get wrong about West Virginia?”
Much like the rest of the world, over the last couple of months, I’ve become fascinated with using ChatGPT. What will it replace? What will it improve? How can I leverage this new AI technology?
And while it certainly has limitations, it’s sometimes scary accurate…
So, I asked a question about Almost Heaven. Would it answer in a nuanced way? Would it even know what I am talking about?
Let’s find out.
Honestly, I am blown away by ChatGPT’s answers.
It addresses the most common out-of-stater geographical error; the “I have family in Richmond…” line.
But it also touches on some of the most painful stereotypes surrounding poverty and education.
Take a look.
Pretty fascinating.
This also brings up something I find myself returning to repeatedly when I think about technology and artificial intelligence. When we interviewed Morgantown native Wes Bush, who is the former Chairman of Northrop Grumman, one of the world's largest technology and defense companies, he thinks West Virginians are in a position to LEAD the world in innovation, technology, and artificial intelligence.
Check out this video below, where I share the story on Joe Justice's Advantage Valley Interview:
I’ll bring this home now by saying that I think West Virginians are some of the most creative, curious, and hardworking individuals you’ll ever encounter. If we lean into technology, this region could be booming with fresh ideas, solutions for our complex statewide problems, and a place to call home for those looking for a slice of Almost Heaven.
