Mister Bee heading to the DMV

The DC-Maryland-Virginia area is buzzing with excitement as Mister Bee Potato Chips will soon be on local shelves.

Mister Bee is the only potato chip made in West Virginia and will soon be featured at Giant Food stores throughout the DMV area starting in early July. They'll be offering their famous 'salute the military personnel' bags that are red, white and blue. You can't miss them!

A portion of every bag sold in the DMV area will be donated to the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore.

Other recent notes about the Parkersburg-based organization:

  1. The company just installed a new $2 million fryer to allow for more production capability at the Parkersburg plant, energy efficiency and quality improvements in the snacks.

  2. Mary Anne Ketelsen and Rob Graham of Mister Bee joined WVU at Parkersburg president Dr. Chris Gilmer and dean Senta Goudy at Riverhawk Farm to dig the first locally-grown potatoes that will be used at Mister Bee.

So not only are the chips sold throughout West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and soon to be the DMV area manufactured in the Mountain State but a portion of the potatoes used will be locally grown in Parkersburg.

Mary Anne Ketelson, CEO of Mister Bee, was a former guest on the Mountaineer Media Podcast. You can listen to her full episode here.

Mister Bee is also the title sponsor for the pod, and we're proud to call ourselves partners with such a philanthropic company.
